The Legend
Isolde of Ireland was promised in marriage to King Mark of Cornwall, a man she had never met. Her mother wanted the match to be a happy one, so she brewed a love potion for the wedding night and sent it along with her daughter's maid. On the crossing to Cornwall, Isolde and the knight Tristan found the flask and drank from it, thinking it was wine. They loved each other from that moment until the end of their lives. In one old telling, a briar grew out of Tristan's grave and rooted itself in hers.
The Scent
Isolde opens on lychee, cold and juicy, the way the fruit tastes straight from the fridge in summer. Pink pepper gives it a small bite, and a glassy pear note keeps it bright. For the first few minutes it smells almost like something poured into a glass, which feels right for a potion.
Then the rose arrives. This is damask rose, the rich, honeyed variety grown for perfume in Bulgaria and Turkey, and here it smells of fresh petals rather than dried ones. Peony softens it, and magnolia adds a creamy, slightly lemony edge. Hours later, what's left on the skin is a clean white musk and pale woods, soft enough that someone has to lean in to notice it.
The Bottle
The 100 ml heart is the one for your dresser. Thick clear glass cut with a fan of facets, blush pink perfume, and a gold rosebud cap that has not opened yet.
